Wednesday, October 13

One month in and we had a blast last wednesday night!  We started the evening off with a Bible study lead by Trish about redemption and how the world can be fixed with the help of Jesus.  After that, we played "Bible Verses Pop" where we took the key verse (Romans 6:23) and hid individual words in red and blue balloons for each team - then we hid the balloons all over the church.  The girls played against the guys and tried to find all of their balloons the quickest, then pop them and unscramble the verse!  We followed that up with DELICIOUS cinnamon buns from James (Grandma Lorraine!) and "The Game of Scissors"....I won't even try to explain that game...

The boys all hanging out.

Shane being Santa!

Boys v.s. Girls!

Aaron running right after supper...not good.

Joseph going to extreme measures.

James just depositing one more balloon.

No luck!

Tria finding the last balloon for the girls!

Time to pop them all!

Girls had a huge lead....but ended up losing to the boys... : (

Alyia NOT loving the scissors game...Alyia - THE SCISSORS ARE OPEN!

See you tomorrow for pumpkin carving!!!
Yikes!!!  It's already Tuesday and I still haven't posted anything from last week!!!  It's been quite the busy week with Shane's hockey starting up!  I'm working on a whole bunch of youth stuff today and tonight, so I promise to post a whole bunch of stuff tonight!  It'll give you a day to remember how much fun youth is!!!  Hope to see you all tomorrow for pumpkin carving!  If any of you read this today some time, remind Joseph he's on snack tomorrow instead of me!  Thanks!

-Trish

Wednesday, October 6

Another awesome night of Jr. Youth is complete!  We had tons of fun horsing around, having a Bible Study led by Shane, playing bucket ball, eating snack (provided by Aaron who couldn't be there :( ...I hope he had fun without all of us...if that's even possible!), and finishing off with a game of sardines!  Lots of action....

Boys will be boys...

Monkeys will be monkeys.....(impressive impersonation!!!)

James trying to peg off the youth leader before the evening began!

I bet Carly never expected that reflection back in the mirror!

My two saving graces....GIRLS!

Bucketball!

D-fence!  Chh-chh!

"Please hug me Quinton!!!" - Carly

Here's a shot of the MVP - Greg "the Golden Boy" Dueck!

Nothing like a end of the game attack for winning!

Can't wait for next week already!!!  7 days and counting!

Wednesday, September 29th

Alright!  I finally got around to posting these pictures!!!  We had a blast this last week!  We started off by hanging out a bit in the youth hut, had a Bible study, headed downstairs for strobe light games, had DELICIOUS snack, and ended the evening in a hilarious game of truth or dare!!!  Here's what it all looked like:

This was my first evening with Quinton and all I can say is, DON'T TRUST THAT SMILE!

This is what happens when you put me in charge of a Bible study; I turn into a platypus!

Getting ready for some strobe light fun!  In this game, we sat in a circle with one person in the middle and an empty chair.  The people sitting were continually shuffling to the next seat in a circle while the person in the middle tried to get the empty seat.  Basic concept....not so easy!

Alyia stuck in the middle!

Next game!  We had to try to get to the other end of the line of chairs by doing rock, paper, scissors face offs!
I love this picture; both almost tumbling over from laughter!

Please notice Joseph in the background!  He randomly sneaks away and all of a sudden everyone's wondering where Joseph is!

I'm pretty sure I can safely say that this is the first time a chair has broken while Alyia was sitting on it!  We decided to not place the blame on anyone though...hahaha.

Nothing quite like a broken chair to bond everyone together!  It's only been 2 weeks and I love these kids!

Sorry, you'll just have to turn your heads for this one!  James doing the "no big deal" pose as I like to call it!

It looks like Aaron bent this chair with his bare hands!  Impressive!

Mmmmm....snack!  Alyia and Quinton (and Jeannine I'm guessing!) provided us with chocolate cupcakes, chocolate milk and chips!!!

Note to self:  Do not feed Carly sugar...

Joseph, Greg, and Carly chilling out.

My favorite dare of the night!  Alyia screaming "I love Justin Bieber"  followed by a girly scream.  While the camera didn't catch it, Shane did the same afterwards!  Priceless...

Hahah!  I think this one was the group favorite!  Quinton had to transfer the salt and vinegar chip by mouth.  His dare was to transfer it to Alyia, but she was too scared of her brother!  Once James knew it was a S&V chip he gladly stepped up to the plate!

All in all, another great evening!  Can't wait until next week!
